Do Something – He’s About to Snap Scenario 1: Fire Max If Lynne decides to fire Max the company might face the following problems: 1. The company might face a huge lawsuit especially since there is no physical evidence related to any violent behavior from his side or that he represents a real threat. 2. The company will lose a hard working employee whose previous job performance shows that he’s one of the best and hard working programmers in the company. 3. This action might actually lead Max to Snap! It might cause his violent side to surface since he will feel maltreated and was fired for no obvious reason. This might make him harmful and dangerous to his colleagues and the company. Scenario 2: Keep Max Lynne could†¦show more content†¦Ask him how he’s doing and try to concentrate on what made him burst on the phone the other day. All this should be documented an attached to his personal file, just in case we need to refer and go back to them whenever needed. Lynne’s action should depend on his response, which could be one of the following: 1. Acceptance – He’s listening to what Lynne has to say and accepting to try to change. This will lead to Scenario 4. 2. Offence – Max might be offended or there might be no positive or negative action from his side. This will lead us to scenario 5. 3. Rejection – Max might be really hostile rejecting whatever Lynne is telling him and refusing to cooperate. This might lead him into being violent and acting in a threatening way which could be dangerous to the company. If this happens, Lynne will have to fire him. But she will not have to worry about a lawsuit from Max’s end since this meeting is already documented and her trying to support or understand him was completely rejected by him. Scenario 4: Keep Max At the same time, keep him more involved in the company’s events and lunches, and try to break the boundaries between him and his colleagues by including him in more team work and group tasks.
